A little more about the art of Escrima: One of the
overall concepts of the Escrima system is to destroy your opponents
ability to attack you. This is different than other styles where the
concept is to strike an opponent in the face and knock them unconscious
(an overly simplified example). The Escrima practitioner tries to break
the hand or cut a tendon in the wrist or arm to persuade their opponent
to discontinue fighting. Of course this does not mean they do not have
the ability to completely disable their opponents or severely injure
them as strikes to the eyes and other parts of the body are taught. ©,

left with the skin on. The skin is left on the stick since some
Escrimadors feel it makes the stick stronger. It also makes the stick a
